Understanding the Letter of Authorization (LOA) for Organization Accounts
What is a Letter of Authorization (LOA)?
A Letter of Authorization (LOA) is a required document used to change a user’s default Video Relay Service (VRS) provider to Convo.
By signing the LOA, the user confirms that they are choosing Convo as their default VRS provider and acknowledges the related terms and conditions. The document also includes information required for VRS eligibility verification.
How does the LOA process work for organizations?
To complete the LOA process, organizations must go through the Convo sign-up process and submit the LOA as part of onboarding.
During this process:
- The organization submits the required information
- Authorized staff members review and accept the LOA
- Convo processes the request to update the default VRS provider
Can businesses review the LOA before signing up?
Yes. Convo’s Sales team can provide a copy of the LOA to the organization point of contact (POC) before authorization is completed.
This allows organizations to:
- Review the document internally
- Understand the authorization requirements
- Prepare staff or administrators responsible for approving the LOA

- VRS eligibility certifications
- Authorization to change the default VRS provider to Convo
- Acknowledgement of applicable terms and conditions
- Information related to number porting and E911 awareness
