Already Outside the U.S.? How to Request Convo Passport?
If you're already outside the United States and didn't submit your Convo Passport request before leaving, you'll need to request a waiver from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) before Convo can activate your Convo Passport for international VRS calling during your trip.
What do I need to do?Email the FCC's Disability Rights Office at DRO@fcc.gov and request a waiver of the requirement to submit your International Travel request while you are physically located in the United States.
Include the following information in your email:
- Your full name
- Your VRS provider (Convo)
- Your date of departure from the United States
- Your expected date of return
- The country or region where you're traveling (for example: Europe, Asia, or South America)
- The general purpose of your travel
- Why you were unable to submit your International Travel request before leaving the United States
What happens after the FCC approves my request?
The FCC will provide you with a waiver.
Once you receive it, forward the FCC waiver attachment to support@convorelay.com.
After Convo receives the waiver, we'll process your Convo Passport request and let you know when it has been approved.
Once approved, you'll be able to make and receive VRS calls with Convo while traveling outside the United States.
Planning a future trip?
If you're still in the United States, submit your International Travel request through your Convo profile before you leave the country. This avoids the additional FCC waiver process.
